Legal Issues

The SAMEBIKE electric bicycle is fully compliant with the legal regulations for assisted bicycles in both the European Union and the United Kingdom:

1)Maximum Speed:The default speed setting upon purchase aligns with EU/UK regulations at 25KM/H. However, for those inclined, it's possible to unlock the speed limit to reach 35KM/H or higher (instructions to remove the limit can be obtained from customer service).

2)Maximum Power:The motor doesn't have explicit power markings, adhering to EU/UK regulations. The actual motor power is indicated by the "D" code, like "500W" as "500D" or "250W500D," encompassing both rated and peak power within legal limits.

3)Pure Electric Drive Mode:The bike comes with a detachable thumb throttle. Removing it complies with EU/UK regulations, which prohibit a pure electric mode. However, users can install the throttle according to preference for a pure electric mode (instructions for the detachable throttle are included or available via customer service).

4)Product COC Certification:All SAMEBIKE models have obtained CE and UKCA certifications from the EU's ECM institution, ensuring full compliance with legal standards.

The SAMEBIKE CY20 is a lightweight folding electric bike that is perfect for city riding and commuting, and can also be carried for travel.

Although SAMEBIKE electric bikes are designed to handle wet conditions, please keep in mind that riding in heavy rain may affect battery life and reduce traction, so please be careful and try to avoid riding in the rain. As for the waterproof rating, the entire bike meets the IP64 standard, including the motor, battery and display.

The CY20 can be folded and stored in the trunk of a car, the folded size is 845*530*690mm, and the unfolded size is 1710*600*1190mm.

Easy to put together and ride

Only have a few miles on the bike as it’s been a few years since I’ve ridden any bike. We live in the country and I’m using it to get around our property. Very happy the peddles fold as it will make it easier to load into my horse trailer to take as a get a round rig at the shows.

Great Customer Service and product

I was in the market for an e-bike that was reasonably priced, had a removable battery and could be folded. This bike met all my expectations. The bike is a bit heavy to lift so if you are on the petite side, this probably is not for you. After removing the battery then lifting, it was way more manageable. I had a tire issue after a few weeks where the sidewall developed two rips and subsequently caused a flat. I contacted the vendor and the were responsive and rectified the issue by sending a replacement tube and tire. Very responsive and great customer service.

Good Bike and Customer Service

This is a solid bike. Easy to put together and quality parrts. We had questions for customer service and they responded immediately. The battery lasts 20+ mins on full power. Easy to operate. I would highly recommend this bike for adults and older kids.

Nice bike

I’ve had this bike for almost a year. I ride it everyday around my 67 acre ranch and I don’t have any complaints! It holds a long charge, I charge it maybe once a month. This bike has been consistently reliable. I hauled it on the back of my camper all across the country, subjected it to rain, wind, snow and salt water, she’s still going. My husband laughed at me when I bought this bike because he’s a name brand guy and thinks everything that isn’t “name brand” sucks. This bike proved him wrong. If you are considering this bike, buy it, you won’t regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stability and power

I had a lighter foldable, but it only had one speed and little power on the hills. This bike has wide tires, and really has the weight to hug the road even in wet surfaces. I occasionally use it without any battery power, just to get some exercise, and again, I like the feel and stability of this bike as you pedal. While it is not rated for passengers, I've used it to motor around campsites with my wife sitting on the back padded seat. That's not a recommendation, and the manufacturer certainly doesn't approve of it, but I'm thankful it has the power, frame strength, and stability to allow me to do it for short trips to and from the showers.
